When you look at the TOC on the right, you'll see there's a lot here. Take it easy! Scan the TOC to see which items are most relevant to you right now. It's an article that you might want to take in bite-sized chunks.

2. Step 1: Select your sales platforms
The first step is to tell us which sales platforms you use.
> To select sales platforms:
Click Sign up.
Click the checkbox for each sales platform you use.
When you’ve selected all your sales platforms, click Let’s go.
Next you’ll start the initial sign-up process.
3. Step 2: Initial sign up
Sign up is straightforward with the option to sign up using your Google account.
Select the Sign up tab.
Enter your email and password.
If you want to check out our terms or service or privacy policy, click the relevant links.
Then click Sign up. At the next step you’ll add your company details.
4. Step 3: Add company details
Enter your first name and last name.
Enter the company name.
If your company name is different from your business name, enter ‘company name, dba business name.’
For example, if your business name is Retail Brand LLC and your brand is Hot Peppers, enter ‘Retail Brand LLC, dba Hot Peppers.’
Click Next. A confirmation screen confirms that your data is secure and editable only by you. It also lists our support email in case you have questions: [email protected].
Click Next to move to the next screen.
Select the radio buttons to tell us:
The type of legal entity: Sole partnership; Limited Liability Company (LLC); Partnership (LP); Corporation (Inc).
Tax status: Single member LLC; Partnership; S Corporation; C Corporation.
Year the company was formed: Select the year the business began.
Click Next. You’re now ready to connect your sales channels.
5. Step 4: Connect sales channels
You’ll connect to each channel separately. All API connections are read-only, so you're the only one who can make changes to your data.
> To connect sales channels:
Select your first channel. A screen opens. Using Shopify as an example, enter your Shopify url and click Connect. You’ll be taken to the Shopify website.
In Shopify, click Install App in the upper right-hand corner.
When you see the confirmation screen in Finaloop, you’re good to connect to your next sales channel.
If you have multiple stores in the same channel, click the + sign to connect additional stores.
Repeat the steps for each channel.
When you’ve connected all your sales channels, click Next.
NOTE: Don’t see your sales channel? Click Other to connect. |
6. Step 5: Connect gateways and apps
>To connect gateways and apps:
Enter your payment gateways. Rest assured, your data is secure, and we can’t make any changes to your apps. Connect each payment gateway separately.
Select the first payment gateway and connect. If you connected Shopify or Amazon as stores, your Shop Pay and Amazon Pay will be connected automatically.
Enter the requested details and you’ll receive a confirmation message on the screen.
Repeat the steps for each payment gateway. Don’t see your payment gateway? Click Other to connect.
Next, select any lending app you used in the last 12 months by clicking the lending app. Don’t see your lending app? Click Other to connect.
When you’ve selected all your lending apps, click Next.
Now, connect to your back-office apps, such as HR, payroll or billing apps. As before, connect each one in turn. Don’t see your back-office apps? Click Other to connect.
When you’ve connected all your back-office apps, click Next.
Next up is connecting Finaloop to your business bank and credit cards.
7. Step 6 Connect bank and credit cards
> To connect banks and credit cards:
You must connect Finaloop to at least one bank account used for your business. Without that we can’t build your books. If you have trouble connecting to a specific bank, email [email protected] with the bank information and we’ll create an action item (we call them ‘missions’) asking you to upload a CSV file with the data we need.
Don’t worry If you add a wrong account, you can delete it later.
When you’ve entered all your business bank and credit cards, click Next to set your projected revenue.
8. Step 7: Set your projected revenue
The last step in the connection process is to set your projected revenue.
> To set your projected revenue:
When you’ve selected the relevant revenue range, click Next.
You’ll see a confirmation screen and that’s it. You’re ready to view your dashboard and explore Finaloop.
9. Step 8: View your dashboard
When you first open your dashboard, you’ll see real time data charts and summary totals for:
Sales & Profits Over Time
Cash Flow Balance - toggle by total or trends
Sales Channels Summary - with filters to fine tune the timeframe
Net Cash Balance - banks, credit cards, apps
Use the Menu pane to access the different features of Finaloop.
You can also check out the article Navigate the Interface, but bear in mind that some areas won’t be fully populated until you’ve subscribed and sent us missing data. For example, you won’t see a balance sheet yet because we need you to send us historic data.
NOTE:. A list of action items that we’ll need to complete your books are in the My Missions tab. My Missions are explained in part two of the onboarding process (see below). |
10. Actions during the trial period
Great job! Now that the basic setup is done, there are some action items to complete during the trial period. So head over to the article Onboarding with Finaloop part 2 to get your ‘missions’.
