💎 Lifetime Value Cohorts

LTV calculated from gross sales tells you what customers spent. It doesn't tell you what you kept.

The new Lifetime Value page groups your customers by when you acquired them and follows what they spend, and the profit they generate, over time. It gives you true LTV: what each customer is worth after real COGS and delivery costs, taken from the same reconciled data as your books.

Set that against customer acquisition cost (CAC) and you get a true LTV:CAC, the number that tells you how profitable your customers really are, how much you can afford to spend acquiring more of them, and which channels deserve the budget.

What you can do

  • See true LTV:CAC, built on real COGS and delivery costs, not gross sales

  • Find your most profitable customers by store, SKU, or acquisition period

  • Track first-order profitability, repurchase rates, and CAC payback

  • Compare cohorts head to head, like Shopify customers against Amazon customers, or buyers of one SKU against another

  • Forecast with Predictive mode, which projects how newer cohorts will behave based on your own historical and seasonal patterns

An Insights section sits below the data and explains, in plain language, what's happening, the trend behind it, and what's driving it.

Why this matters

Revenue per customer is easy to grow by spending more to get it. Profit per customer is the number that tells you whether to.

📊 The New Reports are Live for Everyone

Last month we introduced the new Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet. In September, we added even more features.

What you get

  • One-click P&L views: preset segmented reports open your P&L already broken down by sales channel, revenue stream, Shopify sales channel, or platform, with no setup

  • P&L by fulfillment channel: see FBA and FBM side by side, each with its own margins

  • P&L by B2B customer: a new breakdown that shows a P&L for each of your wholesale customers.

  • A rebuilt Cash Flow report: You can now view it on a weekly or monthly basis with new customization settings included

  • A new General Ledger, Trial Balance, and account ledgers: all rebuilt on the same engine, so every report ties back to the same numbers

A few things to know:

  • 2026 reports: The new reports cover 2026 and future years. Your original 2026 reports will remain available until October 31, 2026, when they’ll be retired.

  • Earlier years: Any reports you have for 2025 or earlier will remain available in their original format.

Built automations using the original report? Please update them, along with any spreadsheets or dashboards built on those exports, to use the new report templates before October 31. This applies to P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.

🧾 Journal Entries are Here!

The new Journal Entries page gives you flexibility to create, edit, post, delete or restore journal entries in one place, with clear visibility into where each one would land in your reports.

What you can do

  • Manage entries from a single page

  • See where it lands in your reports before you post, so nothing ends up in the wrong place

  • Post in the account's own currency: each entry has one currency, set for the whole entry, and reports convert it to USD at the rate on the entry date, so foreign-currency balances stay correct

Finaloop's accounting team will continue handling these adjustments for you, this just gives you more flexibility to add them yourself.

Why this matters

Year-end accruals, owner adjustments, a one-off reclass your CPA asked for: done in minutes, with the report impact visible before you post.

🤝 Invoices Recognize Revenue When You Ship

Invoices now support date flexibility, so you can control when revenue is recognized. Choose between two methods:

  • Invoice date (default): every invoice is recognized on its invoice date. This is how invoices worked before.

  • Fulfillment date: you set the fulfillment date yourself for each invoice.

You set the method on the invoice settings page, by source (for example SPS, Crstl, or Finaloop) and by period. The method applies to every invoice from that source and period.

What you can do

  • Set a fulfillment date per line item from the Manage fulfillment button on the invoice page

  • Split a line that shipped in more than one shipment, and give each part its own date

  • Bulk edit to apply the same date to all selected lines

  • Pick the warehouse each fulfillment ships from, for InventoryIQ customers

  • See fulfillment status on each invoice: Fulfilled, Partially fulfilled, or Unfulfilled

This feature is available for both cash and accrual users but it will only impact the books for accrual basis books. For accrual books, on the invoice date we book accounts receivable against deferred revenue. At each fulfillment we recognize the sale and COGS.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Merchant Management

The new Merchant Management page gives you one place to see every vendor and customer in your books and clean up duplicates. Find it in the Report Center, under the operational, tax & payroll section.

What you get

  • All merchants: one searchable, filterable table of every merchant you've done business with, with each merchant's type, a link to its Vendors, Customers, or Owners page, and a CSV export

  • Merge suggestions: pairs of merchants that may be the same business, shown side by side. Choose Merge or Don't merge, one at a time or in bulk. Merging combines their transactions, bills, and balances into one record

  • History log: every merge and decline is recorded with who made it and when, and you can undo a merge from the log to restore the two merchants

Why this matters

The same vendor spelled three ways is three lines in your spend, and none of them is the real total.

📦 Manual Shopify Orders Link to Their Payments Automatically

When an order marked as manually paid in Shopify matches a bank transaction exactly, Finaloop now links the two for you. Matching looks at payments from 60 days before to 90 days after the order date, and uses details like the order name, customer, and transaction description to pick the right one.

  • Linked orders show an Auto-linked badge, and you can edit or unlink them like any other link

  • Links you created yourself are never changed, and locked years aren't touched

Why this matters

Less manual matching, and less risk of the same sale being counted twice: once as the order, and again as the payment.
