January 2026 Release Notes

Written by Emily Burrows

Every month we publish a new edition of release notes to introduce Finaloop's newest features and product updates. Here are this month's updates:

🧾 B2B, wholesale & retail: clearer, customer-level visibility

We’ve rolled out major improvements to how customer balances are tracked in Finaloop, aligning invoices and payments without double counting, reducing manual work for you, and giving you clear customer-level visibility.

1. New B2B Customers page

A consolidated view of all your customers, showing:

  • Customer balances as of any selected date

  • Total sales per customer for a selected period

  • A customer-level ledger with each customer’s AR in one place, including invoices, payments, and adjustments (Other AR sources, like Shopify orders and bank transactions, coming soon.)

Customer-level adjustments

Now, create a general customer adjustment that isn’t tied to a specific invoice, making it much easier to close out overall balances when needed.

2. Invoice updates

Duplicate invoices

Duplicate any invoice directly from the Actions menu. Line items and categories are preserved, and due dates automatically adjust based on the original timing.

Customer payment reminders

Send payment reminders directly from the Invoice list or from invoice page with one click. A badge shows when a reminder was sent, so nothing slips through the cracks.

What’s next

These changes lay the groundwork for automated customer AR cycles, including optional invoice linking and smarter order-to-invoice workflows coming next.

🧾 Bills & AP: faster, simpler workflows

We shipped several updates to make bills easier to manage, especially if you deal with repeat vendors or handle high invoice volume.

1. Duplicate bills

Duplicate any Finaloop bill from the Actions menu. Line items and categories are preserved, and due dates adjust automatically based on the original timing.

2. Create bills by forwarding emails

You can now create bills simply by forwarding or CC’ing emails to Finaloop. The system automatically extracts and creates bills from PDFs, images, email body text, or even multiple email attachments.

Tip: You can forward multiple bills in a single email for quick bulk uploads.

3. Bulk edit bill categories

Update multiple bill categories at once, no more one-by-one cleanup.

📦 Dropshipping

We shipped two major updates for dropshipping sellers: expanded support for InventoryIQ and adding Shopify Collective automation.

1. Dropshipping for InventoryIQ users

Following our earlier sales-based release, dropshipping is now live for InventoryIQ users.

You’ll be guided through a short setup that asks a few key questions about your dropshipping operations. Based on your answers, Finaloop automatically selects the accounting treatment that best fits your workflow - no guesswork required.

We also reorganized the Bills & Payments page in InventoryIQ to make it more intuitive.

👉Check out this video and article for more details.

2. New: Shopify Collective support

If you purchase products from your suppliers through Shopify Collective, this update is a big one.

Finaloop now automatically applies the correct dropshipping accounting treatment for Shopify Collective orders. The exact treatment depends on your selected COGS method and dropshipping setup, but it’s now fully handled for you.

This means accurate COGS and margin reporting, no more manual adjustments, and Shopify Collective finally behaves like dropshipping in your books (because it is).

🔔 Ops & controls: fewer surprises

We shipped several updates to give finance and ops teams more visibility and fewer “wait, what just happened?” moments.

1. Divvy and Mercury Treasury automation

Divvy and Mercury Treasury users now get live banking automation in Finaloop. No more statement uploads, everything now syncs automatically.

2. New exports

You can now export:

  • 1099 reports (NEC, MISC, and more)

  • Gusto payroll data

  • Trial Balance, including:

    • All P&L and Balance Sheet accounts

    • Debit and Credit columns

    • Account classifications

    • Built-in validation formulas (not hard-coded totals)
