About

Finaloop’s SKU Analysis Dashboard gives you real-time visibility into the true profitability of every product you sell across Shopify, TikTok Shop, and your wholesale invoices. (Amazon coming soon!)

The dashboard combines sales, discounts, refunds, and product level COGS, so you can see each SKU’s actual profit margin, profit per unit, and overall performance. It helps you:

  • Identify your most profitable products

  • Spot loss making or low margin SKUs

  • Understand which SKUs can enough cushion to withstand increasing costs, such as shipping out, ads, fulfillment, or tariffs

  • Allocate ad spend more strategically

Every SKU behaves differently. This dashboard gives you the visibility you need to make more informed pricing, purchasing, and inventory decisions.

1. Where to find the SKU Analysis dashboard

In your Finaloop menu:

  1. Go to Home.

  2. Select the SKU Analysis tab at the top of the page.

You can view your margins for Shopify, TikTok Shop, and wholesale or filter by a specific source.

2. What you see in the dashboard

The SKU Analysis Dashboard breaks down all the components that shape your SKU level profitability.

At the top of the page, you can switch between two tabs:

  • US$ view: total dollar value profitability

  • Units view: profit per unit and unit level behavior.

Below is a breakdown of each column and how the data is calculated.

US$ view

  • Source: The sales channel(s) where this SKU was sold.

  • Sales: Your gross sales based on when revenue is recognized in your books (cash basis: the date of payment, accrual basis: the date the order is fulfilled). Note that your SKU Analysis only displays sales if COGS data exists for that sale. If cost information is missing, related sales will not appear in this dashboard.

Note for Shopify: Not all brands track fulfillment accurately in Shopify. Since actual fulfillment data is not always accurate, Finaloop supports two fulfillment tracking methods: Order placed date or Order fulfilled date. See Tracking and managing Shopify orders, refunds, and cancellations to learn more.

  • Sales trend: Year-over-year change in sales volume for the selected period. Note that this will only appear if previous year data is available.

  • Discounts: All product-level discounts for included sales orders.

  • Net sales: Sales minus discounts.

  • Product COGS: COGS for fulfilled units synced automatically (see note above on fulfillment for Shopify). This is based on your:

    • Average costs per unit (sales based COGS), or

    • FIFO cost per unit (InventoryIQ).

  • Profit: Net sales minus product COGS.

  • Profit margin (%): Profit divided by net sales. This allows you to compare SKU performance at a glance.

When you turn on the Show returns toggle, you’ll see additional columns that include refunds and restocks for a more complete view of SKU profitability over time.

  • Refunds: Refund amounts for this SKU during the selected period.

  • Restocks: Units marked as physically restocked in your warehouse. Restocks reduce product COGS.

  • Effective profit: Profit minus refunds plus restocks.

  • Effective profit margin (%): Effective profit divided by net sales. This gives you a more complete picture of true SKU profitability over time.

Units view

  • Units sold: Total units fulfilled per SKU (see note above on fulfillment for Shopify).

  • Units refunded: Total units refunded.

  • Average units sold per week: Units sold divided by the number of weeks in the selected period.

  • Average net sales per unit: Net sales divided by units sold.

  • Average cost per unit: Product COGS divided by units sold.

  • Average profit per unit: Profit divided by units sold.

3. Sorting and filtering

You can sort by any column, including profit margin, units sold, profit per unit, or total profit.

Common use cases:

  • Sort by profit margin to find SKUs with enough cushion to support increased costs such as ads or tariffs.

  • Sort by profit per unit to identify cash flow drivers.

  • Sort by lowest margin to surface loss making SKUs that require attention.

You can filter by Shopify or TikTok Shop, view wholesale SKUs billed through Finaloop, or export your data using the Export button in the top right corner.

4. Using SKU Analysis to improve your business

Identify your best performers

Quickly see which SKUs drive profit so you can focus ad spend and replenishment on what actually works.

Spot loss making or at risk SKUs

Understand which products are unprofitable or do not have enough margin to support rising fulfillment or landed costs. These are effectively being financed by your profitable SKUs and, in many cases, should be cut.

Adjust pricing, costs, and strategy

With real margins in front of you, you can make more informed decisions about pricing, packaging, supplier costs, or promotions.

Plan for cost changes

Whether the cost increase comes from shipping, freight, platform fees, or tariffs, SKU level visibility helps you see which products can absorb changes and which ones cannot.
